Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Major League Baseball has decided to reduce the total time of two separate suspensions levied to Kansas City Royals pitcher Kelvin Herrera to six games upon appeal.

Herrera had originally drawn a five-game ban for throwing at Oakland's Brett Lawrie on April 19, then received a two-game punishment for his role in a brawl with the Chicago White Sox the following week.

The 25-year-old Dominican right-hander will begin serving the suspension as of Thursday's tilt against Cleveland. He has pitched to a 2.19 ERA in 13 appearances this season for the defending AL champions.
