Jets pick up 5th-year option on LB Coples

Florham Park, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Jets exercised their fifth-year option on linebacker Quinton Coples, the team announced Thursday.

Coples, 24, is entering his fourth season with the Jets, who drafted him No. 16 overall in 2012.

He had 37 tackles, a career-high 6 1/2 sacks and one forced fumble in 16 games last season, including 15 starts. He has 105 tackles and 16 1/2 sacks in three seasons.
