Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Jack Johnson's strike 56 seconds into overtime lifted the streaking Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-2 win over the slumping New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.

Brandon Dubinsky scored on a penalty shot, Nick Foligno also lit the lamp and Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves for the Blue Jackets, who won their seventh straight game, despite being officially eliminated from playoff contention due to Boston's win over Florida.

"We just got mad. We didn't get down at all, giving up a short-handed goal that late in the game," said Johnson. "We just wanted to finish the game off."

Mike Cammalleri sent the game into overtime late in regulation with his second goal of the night and Cory Schneider stopped 28 shots for the Devils, who have dropped six in a row for the first time since Oct. 3-17, 2013.

"We would like to have that last shift back," Cammalleri said. "I think we just got a little out of sorts and ended up giving up one that we would like to have a chance at."

Trailing 2-1, Dainius Zubrus was stopped on a short-handed breakaway, but followed the puck behind the net. He swatted it toward the slot, where it flew over the net and bounced in the crease before Cammalleri knocked it in for a tied game with 2:29 to play.

During the extra session, Ryan Johansen circled around the net and sent the puck down to David Savard at the blue line. Savard faked a shot and dished the puck to Johnson, who drifted across the slot and ended the game with a backhander past Schneider's glove.

Cammalleri opened the scoring for the Devils on a one-timer from the right circle for a power-play goal with just 56 seconds remaining in the first period.

The Blue Jackets pulled even 1:49 on the man advantage into the middle stanza as Foligno tipped in Alexander Wennberg's wrister from the right circle.

Less than three minutes later, Dubinsky was slashed on a breakaway and was awarded a penalty shot. He skated up the left circle and put the Blue Jackets ahead 2-1 on a wrister under Schneider's glove.

Patrik Elias nearly tied the game on a wraparound early in the third, but his attempt went off the pipe and through the crease.
