New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NBA has suspended Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart one game for striking San Antonio forward Matt Bonner in the groin during Friday's game against the Spurs.

Smart received a Flagrant 2 foul and an ejection for the incident, which occurred with 8:56 remaining in the Celtics' eventual 101-89 loss to the Spurs.

The rookie will sit out Boston's home game with Detroit on Sunday and will be eligible to return when the Celtics visit Brooklyn Monday.
