Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Yes, Tim Tebow worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles.

No, it doesn't appear Chip Kelly and the Eagles will sign the former Heisman Trophy winner anytime soon.

Out of the league the past two seasons and currently working as an analyst on TV, Tebow worked out for the Eagles on Monday, a team spokesman confirmed to SportsNetwork.com.

But the Eagles were not expected to sign the former Florida star and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner anytime soon, according to ESPN.

Tebow, 27, played two seasons for the Denver Broncos from 2010-11 and last appeared in the NFL for the Jets in 2012.

He joined the New England Patriots in June 2013 but was cut two months later before the start of the regular season.

Kelly and the Eagles have been busy re-working a roster that seems to change by the week. Gone are quarterback Nick Foles and running back LeSean McCoy, replaced by Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray.

The Eagles also have quarterbacks Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne on the roster. Sanchez and Tebow were teammates on the Jets in 2012.

Even the mention of Tebow's name elicits strong opinions, so news that he worked out for the Eagles caused a stir on social media Monday afternoon.
