Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Houston Baptist's young football program will try to continue building its foundation during an 11-game 2015 schedule announced Monday.
The Huskies finished 2-9, including 1-7 in the Southland Conference, during its debut campaign under coach Vic Shealy last year.
In 2015, Houston Baptist will play seven home games at Husky Stadium.
"Everybody will tell you that there's nothing like playing at home," Shealy said. "The student-athletes get so much more rest and recovery time, so, hopefully, that is a bonus each week. I'm grateful to our administration that we've been able to bring in a couple of home games this year. Not only will it help us physically, but also academically, because our guys will be better prepared on Mondays to start classes."
The home schedule includes Bethany (Sept. 5), Northern Colorado (Sept. 12) and College of Faith (Oct. 3) out of conference and then Central Arkansas (Oct. 10), Southeastern Louisiana (Oct. 24), Lamar (Oct. 31) and Incarnate Word (Nov. 21) within the Southland.
