Hamilton, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - A rugged non-conference will help prepare Colgate's football team for its Patriot League schedule this year.

On Friday, Colgate announced an 11-game schedule for coach Dan Hunt's second season.

The Raiders will open the season at Navy on Sept. 5 before playing FCS national power New Hampshire in its home opener on Sept. 12. A week later, the Raiders will host Yale in their Homecoming Day game on Sept. 19.

Colgate will then play its Patriot League opener at Holy Cross on Sept. 26 followed by its final two non-conference games, a Friday night game at Cornell on Oct. 2 and trip to Princeton on Oct. 10.

From there, it's all league games as Colgate visits Georgetown (Oct. 17), hosts Fordham (Oct. 31), visits Lafayette (Nov. 7) and wraps up the campaign by hosting Lehigh (Nov. 14) and Bucknell (Nov. 21).

"It's a great schedule," said Hunt, whose team finished 5-7 (3-3 Patriot) last season.

"The kids know the challenge that awaits the first couple of games, and that's what they want. It sets the tone for us this spring in that we've got to hit the season fast and at a high level."
