Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers released wide receiver Stevie Johnson on Thursday.
Johnson was acquired by the 49ers in a trade with the Buffalo Bills last May and finished with 35 receptions for 435 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games this past season.
A seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2008, Johnson has caught 336 passes for 4,267 yards and 31 touchdowns in 89 career games.
The 49ers also re-signed quarterback Blaine Gabbert to a two-year contract and tight end Garrett Celek to a one-year deal.
