Three tied for lead in Colombia

Cartagena, Colombia (SportsNetwork.com) - John Mallinger carded a 5-under 67 on Friday to move into a share of the lead as the second round of the Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship was suspended due to high wind.

Mallinger finished 36 holes at 7-under-par 137. He was joined at minus-7 by Miguel Angel Carballo and Jamie Lovemark. They had completed 12 and 10 holes of their second rounds.

Oliver Goss, who shared the first-round lead with Adam Crawford, is alone in fourth place at minus-6. He was 2-over par through nine holes of his second round.

Nicholas Lindheim (68) moved into a tie for fifth place at 5-under-par 139 at TPC Cartagena at Karibana. He stands alongside Patton Kizzire (nine holes) and Jhared Hack (eight holes).

Wind gusts over 40 mph forced officials to halt play at 3:30 p.m. ET. The second round will resume Saturday morning at 7 a.m.

Mallinger opened with a pair of pars from the 10th. He traded a birdie for a bogey from the 12th and again from the 15th. He parred the 17th and 18th to make the turn at minus-2.

The 35-year-old started to climb up the leaderboard as birdied the first and third. Mallinger moved to 5-under with a birdie at the par-3 fifth.

After a pair of pars, Mallinger birdied the final two holes to post 7-under.

"It was nice to play in no wind for nine holes. I'm in a good position," admitted Mallinger. "There's no question that my round Thursday (of 70) was far better than the 67 today. I've been mediocre on the par-5s and that's something I need to work on for the weekend."

Carballo tripped to a bogey at the first, but he came right back with birdies at the second and third. He ran off six consecutive pars from the fourth.

Around the turn, Carballo moved into the lead at 8-under as he birdied the par-5 10th. However, he tripped to a bogey at the 12th to slip back into a share of the lead.

Lovemark, a two-time winner on the Web.com Tour, birdied the second, but gave that shot right back as he stumbled to a bogey on the third.

He came right back with birdies at four and five. Lovemark moved into a share of the lead with a birdie on the eighth. He parred the next two holes before play was halted for the day.

NOTES: Mallinger has four career runner-up finishes, two on the PGA Tour and two on the Web.com Tour ... If he finishes with a piece of the 36-hole lead, it will mark the first time in Mallinger's Web.com Tour career that he had at least a share of the second-round lead.
