Delray Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - No. 3 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov was a straight-set first-round winner Monday at the Delray Beach Open tennis event.

The Ukrainian handled Russia's Teymuraz Gabashvili 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 on the hardcourts at Delray Beach Tennis Center.

Fourth-seeded Ivo Karlovic, a runner-up at this event in 2010, outlasted Dustin Brown 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, while American wild card Denis Kudla downed Slovak Lukas Lacko 6-3, 6-4.

This week's top seeds are South African Kevin Anderson and towering American John Isner. The 2012 champion Anderson was last year's Delray runner-up to U.S. Open titlist Marin Cilic.

The 2015 Delray champion will earn $84,250.
