Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - John Gibson made a pile of saves to help the Anaheim Ducks stop a three-game losing streak.

Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm had one, too.

Francois Beauchemin and Matt Beleskey each had a goal and Gibson made 35 saves to lead Anaheim to a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.

Gibson made 14 saves each in the first and second periods and added seven in the third for the Ducks, who finished off a 2-2-1 road trip.

Jeff Skinner had a power-play goal, but the Hurricanes were unable to even the score despite finishing the game with a 6-on-4 advantage over the last 32 seconds after Ryan Kesler was whistled for a hooking penalty and Carolina pulled goaltender Cam Ward.

"I thought we had good pace to our game and good puck speed early but then the puck speed went away and we started to play slow," said Carolina coach Bill Peters.

Earlier, Lindholm kept the game scoreless when he scrambled to the post to stop Victor Rask's wraparound in the second period.

Lindholm took a slashing penalty on Rask, however, and Skinner scored on the ensuing power play to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead.

Anaheim was being outshot by a wide margin and coach Bruce Boudreau said his team wasn't matching Carolina's energy until after a fight between Tim Jackman and Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason.

"A few minutes later we had two goals," Boudreau said. "So to me that was a real energy fight that turned the game around a little bit."

Ward stopped Corey Perry's backhand, but the puck went in off Beauchemin to tie the score for Anaheim at 14:38 of the second period.

The Ducks then took the lead when Rask carelessly handled the puck in front of his own net and Beleskey whacked at his stick, sending the puck past Ward with 2:30 remaining in the second period.

Ward was far less busy than Gibson and finished with 15 saves on 17 shots. He faced only four shots in the third period.
