London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Chelsea announced on Monday that the Premier League leaders have completed the signing of winger Juan Cuadrado from Serie A side Fiorentina.

Cuadrado, 26, will head to Stamford Bridge on a new four-and-a-half year contract after spending the past 5 1/2 seasons in Italy with Udinese before moving to Fiorentina in 2012.

"I am very happy and thankful for this opportunity I've been given," Cuadrado said. "This is a great club and honestly it is like a dream to join the Chelsea family and to know that the manager believes in me. I'm happy."

Cuadrado has also won 37 caps for his native Colombia and was a key contributor for his country during the 2014 World Cup.

He scored in a group-stage victory against Japan before ending the tournament at the quarterfinal stage with four assists.
