Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Klay Thompson set an NBA record for points in a quarter on Friday night.
Thompson netted 37 of Golden State's 41 points in the third quarter of the Warriors' showdown with the Sacramento Kings. The sharpshooting guard made all 13 of his shots in the frame, nine of them coming from beyond the arc.
Thompson, who finished with 52 points, broke George Gervin and Carmelo Anthony's record for most points in a quarter. Both netted 33. Gervin did it in 1978, while Anthony accomplished the feat in 2008.
