Cooperstown, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - As expected, John Smoltz, Pedro Martinez and Craig Biggio will enter the Hall of Fame in July with caps most associated with their respective teams.
Smoltz will have an Atlanta Braves cap, Martinez will go in with a Boston Red Sox logo and Biggio will feature an Astros emblem.
It was previously announced that fellow 2015 class member Randy Johnson would have an Arizona Diamondbacks cap on his plaque. Johnson, in addition to his time with Arizona, also pitched for the Expos, Mariners, Astros, Yankees and Giants in his 22-year career.
Martinez also pitched for multiple teams during his 18 seasons. He began with the Dodgers and also played for the Expos, Mets and Phillies, but had his greatest success in Boston, winning two of his three Cy Young awards and helping the Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years in 2004.
"I cannot be any prouder to take Red Sox Nation to the Hall of Fame with the logo on my plaque," said Martinez. "I am extremely proud to represent Boston and all of New England with my Hall of Fame career. I'm grateful to all of the teams for which I played, and especially fans, for making this amazing honor come true."
Smoltz spent all but one season of his 21-year career in Atlanta. He split 2009 with Boston and St. Louis.
Biggio, meanwhile, played his entire 20-year career with Houston.
