New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - South Carolina remained a solid No. 1 in the latest Associated Press women's college basketball poll.

The Gamecocks sit atop the rankings for the seventh straight week, earning 24 first-place votes and a total of 864 points from a nationwide media panel for the second week in a row.

Connecticut, Texas and Notre Dame held firmly in the next three spots. The Huskies again received seven first-place votes and the Longhorns garnered four.

Baylor, Louisville, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas A&M and Kentucky round out this week's top 10. Texas A&M dipped four places from fifth after a 3-1 week that started with a loss at Washington.

The second 10 consists of Oregon State, Maryland, Duke, Mississippi State, Stanford, Oklahoma State, Iowa, Arizona State, Nebraska and Georgia. Duke dropped three spots from 10th after a loss at UConn and Nebraska tumbled seven places from 12th after losses to Minnesota and Maryland.

Syracuse, Princeton, Minnesota, Rutgers and Western Kentucky are the last five teams ranked.

Princeton, Minnesota and Western Kentucky are this week's newcomers, replacing Seton Hall, Michigan State and DePaul.
