Kevin Durant made the tough decision to withdraw from Team USA before the FIBA World Cup.

Now, the Oklahoma City Thunder hope to benefit from having a rested superstar.

Durant led the league in minutes last season on his way to winning the MVP award.

After the season, while some players lost weight or worked on specific areas of their games, Durant focused on recharging. He led the league in scoring at 32 points per game.

Durant spent part of his 26th birthday on Monday talking to reporters about his summer and what's ahead. He said he wants to win a championship, but also wants to focus on day-to-day improvement.

Durant's summer wasn't all relaxation. He signed several endorsement deals, including a huge one with Nike.
