Tony Romo hasn't taken a snap in a game since he played through a back injury to lead a drive that kept Dallas in playoff contention late last season.

The 34-year-old quarterback had surgery for a herniated disk and has taken frequent days off during training camp. Romo won't play long in the Cowboys' preseason home opener against Baltimore on Saturday night, but he will be the starter.

Both teams have new coaches directing the offense. Scott Linehan is the passing coordinator for Dallas; former Houston coach Gary Kubiak is the Ravens' offensive coordinator. Both had strong debuts in the preseason.

The same can't be said for a pair of defenses battling injury issues.
