Foxboro, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots acquired defensive end Jerel Worthy, a former second-round draft pick, from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick on Friday.

Selected at No. 51 overall out of Michigan State in 2012, Worthy tore his ACL in the regular-season finale of his rookie campaign. He began the 2013 season on the physically unable to perform list and played in two games after being added to the roster on Nov. 23.

He has compiled 11 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in his career.

The Patriots also acquired defensive tackle Ben Bass from the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for defensive back Justin Green and placed rookie tight end Terrence Miller on injured reserve.
