Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Sacramento Kings made history on Friday, signing massive center Sim Bhullar to a contract.

Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Bhullar, a native of Toronto, Ontario, became the first player of Indian descent to sign an NBA contract. The 7-foot-5 project, who spent two seasons playing college basketball at New Mexico State, is also set to become the tallest player in the league.

"I've long believed that India is the next great frontier for the NBA, and adding a talented player like Sim only underscores the exponential growth basketball has experienced in that nation," said Kings owner Vivek Ranadive, who was born in India.

Bhullar averaged 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game in two years at NMSU before declaring early for the 2014 NBA draft. Sacramento signed him to its Las Vegas Summer League team after he went undrafted, and Bhullar appeared in four games for the Summer League champs.
