New York Jets rookie safety Calvin Pryor, the team's first-round draft pick, is being evaluated for a concussion after injuring his head during practice Saturday.

Coach Rex Ryan says Pryor was hurt when he collided with a teammate while serving as a punt protector during a special teams drill early in the session. Ryan says the team was still awaiting test results for Pryor, who jogged off the field with a trainer after the play and remained on the sideline for most of the rest of practice.

The injury came on the first day the Jets wore full pads since training camp practices began Thursday.

Pryor, the No. 18 selection out of Louisville, is a likely starter for the Jets opposite either Dawan Landry or Antonio Allen.
