Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox activated pitcher Zach Putnam off the 15-day disabled list on Friday.

Putnam had been sidelined since July 23 with right shoulder inflammation.

The 27-year-old right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.35 earned run average and three saves in 33 appearances this season.

The White Sox optioned pitcher Andre Rienzo to Triple-A Charlotte after Thursday's game at Seattle to make room for Putnam.
