A person with knowledge of the meeting tells The Associated Press that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will have a hearing with NFL officials in New York on Aug. 1.

Gordon was arrested this month on charges of driving while intoxicated after speeding down a street in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was released on bail.

The 23-year-old player was suspended for two games last season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He still led the league with 1,646 yards receiving.

Gordon also reportedly failed another drug test during the offseason, which could lead to a season-long or indefinite ban. In May, he was ticketed for speeding, and a passenger in his car was cited for marijuana possession.
