PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is back at training camp and wants to earn the trust of his teammates, coaches and fans after a troubled offseason.
In a statement released by the team Wednesday, Dareus says he has a passion for football, but acknowledges he has "things to work on professionally and personally."
Dareus returned to camp in suburban Rochester on Tuesday, a day after attending a court hearing in Alabama. He agreed to enter an NFL substance abuse program to have two felony drug charges dismissed.
Dareus also faces a reckless driving charge after crashing his Jaguar into a tree outside of Buffalo in late May.
He reported to camp out of shape and must first pass a conditioning test before being cleared for practice.
