Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Memphis Grizzlies signed free-agent swingman Vince Carter to a multi-year contract on Saturday.

Financial terms weren't disclosed, but Yahoo Sports on Friday reported it to be a three-year deal worth $12 million.

Carter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 81 games off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2013-14 season, his 16th in the NBA.

It was his third season with Dallas following stops with Toronto, New Jersey, Orlando and Phoenix. Carter has averaged 20.2 points in 1,148 NBA games.

He hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to win a first-round playoff game against San Antonio on April 26, but the Mavericks were ousted in seven games by the eventual NBA champions.

An eight-time All-Star, Carter is 25th all-time in NBA history with 23,190 points and is seventh in 3-pointers made with 1,809. The North Carolina product was also the NBA's Rookie of the Year for the 1998-99 season with the Raptors.
