CONCORD, N.C. – Parker Kligerman thought something might be up when Kurt Busch began texting him two weeks ago.
When Busch finally picked up the phone and called, he presented Kligerman with an offer the Sprint Cup rookie couldn't refuse.
Busch needed a driver to fill the seat of the No. 41 Chevrolet when he's in Indianapolis. Kligerman will qualify the car on Friday night for the Sprint All-Star race, and will drive it in practice before next week's Coca-Cola 600. He'll be on standby in case Busch is late arriving after the Indianapolis 500.
Kligerman ran the first eight races of the season but lost his ride last month when Swan Racing sold its inventory.
