St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Rams released running back Daryl Richardson on Thursday.

Richardson, a 2012 seventh-round draft pick, averaged 4.8 yards per carry in his rookie campaign. In 2013, he rushed for 215 yards in eight games while battling a toe injury.

Zac Stacy took over the starting role in 2013 and with the arrival of third- round selection Tre Mason, it spelled the end for the Abliene Christian product.
