Barcelona, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Barcelona's title hopes were all but ended on Saturday as Angel Lafita scored in stoppage time to help Getafe claim a 2-2 draw at Barcelona.

Lionel Messi's 23rd-minute opener was canceled out by Lafita's first goal in the 37th.

Alexis Sanchez thought he netted the winning goal in the 67th minute, which would have pulled Barca to within a point of leaders Atletico Madrid, but Lafita found the net in closing moments to give his side a vital point in its bid to survive relegation.

Messi's 28th goal of the season arrived in the 23rd minute when Dani Alves got into the penalty area on the right and drove a low ball into the path of the Argentina international, whose first-time finish left goalkeeper Julio Cesar with no chance.

Getafe didn't manage to threaten the Barca net much in the first half, but the visitors were level when Lafita stabbed home a free kick from Pablo Sarabia before halftime.

Alexis nodded a ball against the crossbar for Barca in the 54th, but he found the net 13 minutes later when he steered the ball into the bottom corner to restore his team's lead.

However, the home side failed to kill the game off and they paid for it in the dying minutes as Lafita got on the other end of Jaime Gavilan's cross to head home the equalizer.

Elche moved further away from the bottom three with a 1-0 win at Malaga that saw Garry Rodrigues score in the 11th minute for Elche while the club was able to keep out Malaga over the final eight minutes despite playing with nine men.

Nolito scored twice in the first half to hand Celta Vigo a 2-0 win at Osasuna and Antonio Rukavina's 20th-minute goal held up as the winner for Valladolid in a 1-0 result over 10-man Espanyol.
