Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Albert Pujols joined an elite list on Tuesday night, hitting two homers to reach the 500 home run club.

Pujols, who entered the game with 498 round trippers, hit a three-run homer in the first inning off Washington's Taylor Jordan and then tagged the 25-year old again in the fifth, this time of the two-run variety.

The 34-year old Pujols became the first player in Major League history to hit No. 499 and No. 500 in the same game. He's the 26th player to reach the milestone and now trails Eddie Murray by four for 25th on the all-time home-run list.
