Bobcats coach Steve Clifford says Al Jefferson's left foot remains in a walking boot and the team's star center is "day-to-day" for Wednesday night's playoff game against the Miami Heat.

Jefferson received treatment Monday and didn't participate in a light workout.

Clifford says "he has a lot of soreness and he's in a walking boot to help with his recovery."

Jefferson, Charlotte's leading scorer, strained the plantar fascia in his left foot in the first quarter of Sunday's 99-88 Game 1 loss to the Heat. He returned and finished the game with 18 points and 10 rebounds but played with a noticeable limp.

Clifford says the medical staff informed him that Jefferson can't injure the foot anymore if he plays, and it's mainly a matter of Jefferson's pain tolerance.
