Foxboro, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots have brought back a familiar face in safety Patrick Chung.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 26-year-old veteran spent four seasons with the Patriots after joining the team as a second-round pick in the 2009 draft. He spent the 2013 campaign with the Philadelphia Eagles, who released him last month.
Chung has started 40 of the 62 games he has played in the NFL and has recorded seven interceptions with 291 tackles and one fumble recovery.
The Oregon product accumulated all seven of his interceptions during his first stint with the Patriots and may best be remembered in New England for an October 2010 game against Miami when he blocked a punt and a field goal in the same game.
Chung started 10 of the 12 games he played with the Eagles last season and finished with 56 tackles.
