Glasgow, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Celtic clinched its third successive Scottish Premier League title on Wednesday with a 5-1 win at Partick Thistle.

There hasn't been too much drama surrounding this season's title race with the Hoops securing the crown with seven games still to play, while second-place Aberdeen sits 26 points back.

A header from Anthony Stokes after just four minutes left little doubt that Celtic would clinch the title on Wednesday, while the visitors waited until the 49th minute to double their advantage through Liam Henderson.

Stefan Johansen scored four minutes later to make it 3-0 after he exchanged passes with Leigh Griffiths before Christie Elliot pulled a goal back for Partick five minutes from time.

But just to underline its superiority this season, Celtic tacked on two goals in stoppage time with Stokes and Kris Commons each finding the net to round off a title-clinching win.

The other match in Scotland on Wednesday saw Dundee United edge Inverness, 2-1, with goals from Ryan Gauld and Ryan Dow.
