Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement with unrestricted free agent defensive tackle Henry Melton on Wednesday.

Melton, a fourth round draft choice of Chicago in 2009, has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Bears. After an ankle injury derailed his rookie season, Melton played in a reserve role in 2010 before becoming a full-time starter in 2011.

A former University of Texas running back who transitioned to the defensive side of the ball midway through his college career, Melton has accumulated 66 tackles, 15.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in 48 NFL games.

He made the Pro Bowl in 2012, but appeared in just three games last season after tearing his ACL in the fourth quarter of a Week 3 tilt against Pittsburgh.
