Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Rookie Ty Dillon claimed his first career pole in the Nationwide Series after winning knockout qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Dillon, who drives the No. 3 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing this season, turned a lap at 182.278 mph for the top starting position in Saturday's Boyd Gaming 300 Nationwide race at Las Vegas. His maiden pole in the series came in his 15th start. Dillon's older brother, Austin, is a rookie in the Sprint Cup Series this year after winning the Nationwide championship in the No. 3 car this past season.
Brad Keselowski qualified second with a lap at 181.702 mph. Keselowski will also start on the outside pole for Sunday's 400-mile Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. qualified third for the Nationwide event, followed by Kyle Larson and Brian Scott.
