Mesa, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Alena Sharp closed with a 1-under 71 on Sunday and that was enough to win the Visit Mesa Gateway Classic by two strokes.

Sharp, who won for the first time on the Symetra Tour, ended at 12-under-par 204 at Longbow Golf Club.

The Canadian led by three at the start of the final round. After an opening birdie, she stumbled to three straight bogeys from the second. Sharp fought back to even-par for her round with birdies at eight and nine.

Around the turn, Sharp tripped to a bogey on the 10th, but came back with birdies at 12 and 13 to get to 12-under. Sharp bogeyed 17, but closed the tournament in style with a birdie at the last.
