Albany, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Greg Gattuso's first season as the University at Albany head football coach will include a program-record seven home games and 12 overall in a schedule announced Thursday.

"We're excited about the seven home games and the challenge of the upcoming schedule," said Gattuso, who replaced long-time coach Bob Ford. "Hopefully, our fans will make it hard for our opponents to play at Bob Ford Field."

Albany will host Holy Cross on Aug. 30 to open the season at home for just the fourth time in the Great Danes' Division I FCS era.

The Great Danes also will host Columbia (Sept. 27) and Colgate (Oct. 25) in non-conference action, and CAA Football opponents James Madison (Oct. 4), Richmond (Oct. 11, Homecoming), Delaware (Nov. 8) and Stony Brook (Nov. 22).

Their road games will be against Central Connecticut State (Sept. 13) from the Northeast Conference and CAA opponents Rhode Island (Sept. 20), Maine (Oct. 18), New Hampshire (Nov. 1) and Villanova (Nov. 15).

Albany finished with a 1-11 record last year, going 0-8 in CAA games in its first season in the conference.
