Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich's dominant Bundesliga season continued Saturday as the club ran out to an emphatic 4-0 victory over Freiburg at the Allianz Arena.

The home side built a comfortable three-goal advantage by the halftime interval with a brace from Xherdan Shaqiri leading the way.

Dante got Bayern off the mark in the 19th minute, but it was Shaqiri's goals in the 34th and 42nd minutes that put the reigning champions firmly in the driver's seat.

Bayern continued to dictate play on the other side of halftime but only managed to pad its lead with two minutes to go as Claudio Pizarro tacked on a fourth with his third league goal of the season.

The Bavarians remain unbeaten in Bundesliga play this season, taking a remarkable 59 points out of a possible 63.

Borussia Dortmund kept pace with Bayern by cruising to a 4-0 defeat of Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice inside the opening 20 minutes to hand Dortmund the lead while a 47th-minute penalty from Robert Lewandowski and a late goal from Milos Jojic put the victory beyond any doubt.

The Borussians climb to 42 points with their third successive league win, closing the gap on Bayer Leverkusen following its disappointing 2-1 home loss to Schalke.

Last-place Braunschweig moved closer to safety on Saturday by getting a 4-2 win over second-from-bottom Hamburg. Dominick Kumbela produced a hat trick in the affair as Braunschweig improved to 15 points on the season, putting the club just one point back of Hamburg and two points back of Nurnberg.

Also on Saturday, Sven Schipplock bagged a brace in Hoffenheim's 4-1 defeat of 10-man Stuttgart while Raffael Araujo's early goal was canceled out by Ludovic Obraniak's late equalizer in Monchengladbach's 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen.
