(SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona forward Brandon Ashley will miss the remainder of the season with a foot injury he suffered in Saturday's loss to Cal.

It was the first loss of the season for the top-ranked Wildcats, who will now go the rest of the way without their third-leading scorer and rebounder.

Arizona coach Sean Miller said in a statement released to media outlets that Miller was done for the season.

"While we're all disappointed, we are also aware that Brandon needs our support and positive energy surrounding him," Miller said. "Someone once told me, the hottest heat forges the strongest steel. This adversity will ultimately make Brandon and our team stronger moving forward."

Ashley suffered the injury just 2:08 into the game after he missed a shot in the lane and went up for the rebound. He limped off the court to the locker room and came back to the bench for the second half in a walking boot.

The 6-foot-8 sophomore was averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 22 games.
