Flagstaff, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Northern Arizona will kick off its 2014 season at San Diego State and play five home games as part of an 11-game schedule.

The Lumberjacks, who are coming off a 9-3 season and their first FCS playoff appearance in 10 years, will visit San Diego State on Aug. 30.

They also will play non-conference games at home against New Mexico Highlands on Sept. 13 and at South Dakota on Sept. 20.

The unbalanced scheduling in the 13-team Big Sky will keep NAU from playing Montana State for the first time since 1967 and Montana for the first time since 1971.

NAU's home conference games at the Walkup Skydome will be against Cal Poly (Sept. 27), Eastern Washington (Oct. 25, Homecoming), UC Davis (Nov. 8) and Southern Utah (Nov. 22).

Coach Jerome Souers' Lumberjacks will visit conference opponents Northern Colorado (Oct. 4), Portland State (Oct. 18), Weber State (Nov. 1) and North Dakota (Nov. 15).
