Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Toluca reached the summit of the Mexican Clausura table on Sunday after earning a 2-0 victory over UNAM at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario.

The visitors opened the scoring 32 minutes into the contest through Pablo Velazquez and doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute when Miguel Ponce fired home his first goal of the campaign.

UNAM creates several scoring opportunities after going down by two goals, but ultimately were unable to get anything past Toluca goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera to remain winless through its first three games.

Toluca, meanwhile, remains unbeaten with a pair of wins and a draw through three matches to sit atop the table with seven points.

Also in Mexico, Raul Jimenez's penalty kick in the 67th minute proved to be the difference on Saturday as America earned a 1-0 result over Leon, while Jehu Chiapas and Israel Castro traded goals in a 1-1 stalemate between Veracruz and Guadalajara.

William da Silva opened the scoring for Queretaro in the 33rd minute, but Monterrey answered with three straight goals from Victor Ramos, Marlon De Jesus and Cesar Delgado in a 3-1 win.

Enner Valencia and Walter Ayovi scored in the second half to hand Pachuca a 2-1 result over Tijuana, while Narcisco Mina's goal gave Atlante a 1-0 win over Atlas.

In Saturday's final Liga MX fixture, Mauro Formica's first-half goal lifted Cruz Azul to a 1-0 win against Jaguares.

On Friday, Morelia earned a 2-0 win against Tigres, while Santos and Puebla played to a scoreless draw.
