Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks and pitcher Joe Thatcher avoided arbitration, agreeing to a one-year contract on Friday.

Thatcher, a left-handed reliever, split last season between San Diego and Arizona, coming to the Diamondbacks in a trade-deadline deal.

He finished 3-2 with a 3.20 earned run average in 72 appearances overall.

The 32-year-old native of Indiana has logged 309 games in the majors, going 8-12 with a 3.34 ERA for the Padres and D-Backs since 2007.
