Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rockies signed catcher Michael McKenry to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training on Thursday.

McKenry hit .217 with three homers and 14 RBI in 41 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in late July.

McKenry was drafted by the Rockies in the seventh round in 2006. He made his major league debut with Colorado in 2010, making six appearances.

He has compiled a .223 batting average with 17 home runs and 64 RBI in 193 career games.
