Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh forward Durand Johnson will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL tear in Saturday's win over Wake Forest.

The school made the announcement on Sunday.

Johnson, a redshirt sophomore, averaged 8.8 points in 16 games -- ranking fourth on the team and tops among Pitt's bench players. He was second on the team with 22 3-pointers made.

Panthers coach Jamie Dixon said the team was "thoroughly heartbroken" to lose Johnson.

"With his passion for the game and outstanding work ethic, Durand has contributed significantly to our success," Dixon said. "He has made so much improvement in all facets of his game this year. I expect that same passion and work ethic to help Durand return at 100 percent next season."
