Michigan State is without Adreian Payne against Minnesota because of a sprained right foot.

The standout center was wearing a suit on the sideline Saturday when the fifth-ranked Spartans hosted the Golden Gophers.

Payne didn't start the previous game, an overtime win over No. 3 Ohio State. He ended up coming off the bench, playing 32 minutes and scoring 18 points against the Buckeyes.

The senior is averaging 16.2 points and 7.7 rebounds this season after choosing to stay in college instead of being a likely first-round pick in the NBA draft.
