Edinburgh, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - John Sutton scored the lone goal at Tynecastle Stadium on Saturday to lead Motherwell to a sixth successive victory by way of a 1-0 defeat of Hearts.

Sutton broke the deadlock at a very opportune time, notching his 11th league goal of the season just six minutes before the break.

Motherwell managed to maintain its narrow lead after halftime to collect all three points and climb to 43 points on the season.

Ross County and Partick Thistle played to a thrilling 3-3 draw at Firhill Stadium on Saturday.

Filip Kiss had opened the scoring for Ross County, but a brace from Lyle Taylor and a goal from Steven Lawless handed Thistle a two-goal lead by the early stages of the second half.

Ben Gordon got Ross County to within one in the 50th minute, and it was Kiss who provided the visitors with the equalizer 14 minutes from time to see the two sides split the points.

Also in the Scottish top flight on Saturday, Murray Davidson and Steve May scored three minutes apart in the second half to get St. Johnstone a 2-0 win over St. Mirren.
