ESPN has hired former University of Florida and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow as a commentator for a new sports channel that will be launched next summer.
Tebow’s primary role will be as an analyst for the SEC Nation show on the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Network, which is set to debut in August 2014, according to an ESPN press release. He will also appear on Sportscenter and other ESPN programs.
But Tebow’s not giving up on a pro career yet, saying he plans to “continue to pursue [his] dream of playing quarterback in the NFL …”
Tebow has played for the NFL’s Denver Broncos and New York Jets, following a college career with the University of Florida, where he won two national championships.
