Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Charlotte Bobcats forward Jeff Taylor will miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured right Achilles tendon.

Taylor suffered the injury just 30 seconds into Friday's 116-106 win over Detroit after attempting to drive past Josh Smith.

The second-year pro out of Vanderbilt fell to the floor grasping his leg in pain and was immediately helped into the locker room.

Taylor is averaging 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 26 games this season and has started the last eight contests in place of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who is out with a broken hand.
