Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Seattle Sounders FC announced late Wednesday that the club has traded Mauro Rosales to Chivas USA for the rights to Tristan Bowen in addition to swapping spots in the Allocation Ranking.

"Mauro has been an important part of our organization, both on and off the field, for the past three years," Sounders owner and general manager Adrian Hanauer said in a statement. "It will be difficult to see him leave, but our salary cap situation made this decision necessary. We wish Mauro the very best at Chivas."

Rosales, 32, recorded 12 goals and 34 assists in nearly three years with the Sounders. He joins a Chivas side that went 6-20-8 in 2013 and scored just 30 goals, tied for the second-fewest in the league.
