Eden Prairie, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said that Matt Cassel will start at quarterback Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cassel will be under center for the second straight week after getting the start in last Sunday's thriller against the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 17- of-38 passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow quarterback Christian Ponder missed the contest with a concussion.

Frazier announced on Wednesday that he was sticking with Cassel for another week.

Cassel has thrown for 1,122 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions in six games (three starts) this season.

Star running back Adrian Peterson, meanwhile, left the Ravens game on a cart with a sprained right foot. X-rays at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore were negative after Peterson exited the 29-26 loss in the second quarter.

After an MRI exam and a CT scan revealed no fractures or structural damage, Peterson said Monday he expected to play against the Eagles.

Meanwhile, backup running back Toby Gerhart is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Frazier said Wednesday that both players probably wouldn't practice until Friday. Matt Asiata is listed as the third running back on Minnesota's depth chart.
