Bologna, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Juventus moved six points clear at the top of the Serie A table on Friday thanks to a 2-0 defeat of Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Arturo Vidal opened the scoring in the 12th minute when he got on the end of Federico Peluso's ball to the back post, drew Gianluca Curci off his line and chipped a shot into the back of the net.

The Old Lady's lead was on a knife's edge until the closing stages when Giorgio Chiellini nodded home a delivery from Carlos Tevez, securing the win to bring Juventus to 40 points on the season.

Bologna, with just two wins this term, sits third from bottom on 12 points.

Roma has fallen off of Juventus' pace following four successive Serie A draws, but the club will hope to maintain its three-point deficit behind the leaders with maximum points against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Inter Milan enters the weekend in fourth place and will hope to keep pace with the top clubs with a positive result against Parma on Sunday, while Hellas Verona attempts to snap a three-game slide when it welcomes Atalanta to the Stadio M.A. Bentegodi.

Elsewhere in the Italian top flight on Sunday, Lazio heads to the Stadio Olimpico to face Torino, Chievo squares off with Sassuolo at the Stadio Alberto Braglia, Sampdoria plays host to Catania and Genoa does battle with Cagliari.

Saturday's action will see AC Milan face Livorno at the Armando Picchi while third-place Napoli welcomes Udinese to the Stadio San Paolo.
