Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin is considered day-to-day with a lower body injury.

Malkin left Thursday's morning skate early and was scratched from the night's game against San Jose.

The 27-year-old veteran ranks second in the league with 37 points, trailing only teammate Sidney Crosby, and his 30 assists are the most in the NHL this season.
